Richard Hatch

Soon after his brief stint replacing Michael Douglas on the hit series The Streets of San Francisco, Richard Hatch was cast on the series that would make him a star — Battlestar Galactica. He played Captain Apollo opposite Lorne Greene on the sci-fi series that followed in the wake of the highly successful Star Wars. After the pilot movie, the show lasted only 21 episodes, but Hatch received a Golden Globe nomination for his work on the show, which became a cult favorite with sci-fi fans. He later appeared as Tom Zarek on a reboot of the show from 2004 to 2009. Hatch died at the age of 71 on Feb. 7, 2017 in Los Angeles of pancreatic cancer.
