The Notebook

It isn't hard to swoon when Noah (Ryan Gosling) rebuilds an entire house for the love of his life, Allie (Rachel McAdams) in The Notebook. However, thanks to movie magic, Noah didn't really have to lift a finger. The filmmakers chose a beautiful house to start with and made it look like a fixer-upper for scenes at the beginning of the film. While the film is set in North Carolina, the house was shot on location at the Martins Point Plantation on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. It's a 5-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom house, but none of the interior scenes were shot on location.
