Oscar Isaac – Sucker Punch (2011)

This 2011 misfire from Zack Snyder was rather ambitious and unconventional by today's standards. An original female-led film with a substantial budget and big name director attached, Sucker Punch didn't quite land with audiences or critics, but it's not as if the film was a complete mess. A hidden gem of a performance comes from none other than Oscar Isaac in one of his earlier, more prominent roles. As Blue Jones, Isaac delivers the kind of scheming and devious persona you'd expect from someone abusing his position of power. And though he may not be a physically imposing antagonist, he is nonetheless intimidating, thanks to the power dynamic he has over Emily Browning and the rest of the female cast.
