Alice in Wonderland (2010)

When Disney saw fit to reimagine Alice in Wonderland as a live-action feature, the pairing of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp was a perfect fit for this rendition. Disney was proven right when this latest collaboration helped turn the film into a massive success at the box office, with Depp taking on yet another eccentric character in the Mad Hatter. While many enjoyed the film overall, there were still a number of people who saw this as a turning point for the actor, as it felt like Depp began to lean more into taking on these types of roles rather than taking on more dramatic and challenging jobs that defined a good portion of his early career. In large part, many saw this as him selling out, which discredits a lot of the work he put into this role and others.
