Ed Wood (1994)

Three years after their initial collaboration on Edward Scissorhands, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton would team up again for another Ed in Ed Wood. The film is a biopic centered on Edward D. Wood Jr.—an ambitious, if heavily flawed, filmmaker—best known for being posthumously awarded the Golden Turkey in 1980 as the worst director of all time. In spite of such a seemingly negative reputation, Burton and Depp paint the portrait of a man's love for filmmaking and all the eccentricities that came with it. There really wasn't any other duo that could have pulled this off to such success, but Depp and Burton do it with aplomb in honoring the life of a cult hero.
