Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

Johnny Depp's last Oscar-nominated performance was surprisingly the only one with frequent collaborator Tim Burton. That came in the horror musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. An adaptation of Hugh Wheeler's stage musical, the film was yet another showcase of Depp's talents and the ever-growing range that he seemed to find in the 2000s. As his first musical, Depp surprised many with his ability to deliver another expert performance, not just through his acting, but in song as well. While it may not stand as his strongest collaboration with director Tim Burton, it's definitely up there and shows just how special a combination the two are when they find a great project to work on.
