Finding Nemo (2003)/Finding Dory (2016) – 13 years

This decade has seen Pixar turn some of their most beloved and original films into franchises. Thanks in part to the generational love and nostalgia for the Toy Story films, it’s no surprise that Pixar’s other popular films were pitched for additional adventures. From the prequel Monsters University to sequels such as Incredibles 2, it shouldn’t have been a surprise to see Pixar also give Finding Nemo the sequel treatment, even though the original was a fantastic standalone film. This brings us to Finding Dory, which is essentially an inverted take of Finding Nemo. Though ultimately not as beloved as the original, the film was still a smash hit.
