Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985)/Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) – 30 years

After making a name for himself with his Mad Max trilogy of films in the early '80s, director George Miller turned to lighter and more family friendly projects over the next two decades of his career while also working on his own version of a Justice League film for DC. When the writer’s strike ended any hopes of that, Miller began work on returning to the world of Mad Max, which eventually resulted in the critically acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road. Even as production problems and a delayed release dogged the film, Miller still proved he had the touch to tell a compelling story in this universe 30 years after Beyond Thunderdome.
