Finding Nemo vs Shark Tale

Time difference: A year apart.

Pixar and DreamWorks’ second pair of films produced concurrently saw a more amicable resolution. Perhaps learning from their mistakes the last time out with Antz and A Bug’s Life, DreamWorks Animation CEO John Katzenberg emphasized that any similarities were coincidental and that subject wise, both were essentially different films, but with similar settings. Both films were box office hits, though Finding Nemo (2003) was the more successful of the two, more than doubling Shark Tale's box office gross when it released in 2004, as well as earning Pixar’s first-ever Oscar for Best Animated Feature film.
