Robert Redford, whose annual Sundance Film Festival in Utah has become world famous, is launching Sundance London. His Sundance Institute is partnering with AEG Europe for the new film festival, which will take place from April 26 to 29, 2012. The event will open with “An Evening with Robert Redford and T Bone Burnett” at London’s O2 arena, with author Nick Hornby as the host. Robert said: “The depth of T Bone’s experience and accomplishments in the worlds of both film and music set the stage for the Sundance London programme and the celebration of music and film that’s to come. His ability to deepen the experience of watching a film through the addition of music has seen him produce and curate some of cinema’s most notable and commercially successful soundtracks.” The festival will also feature films from the Sundance Film Festival, which takes place each January.

That’s cool. I wish he would do more movies himself though. I’d way rather see him than Mel Gibson in a movie.
