Sarah Jessica Parker upsets townhouse owners

Sarah Jessica ParkerSarah Jessica Parker Collection is upsetting her old neighbors on Perry Street in Manhattan’s West Village, where her Carrie Bradshaw famously lived in Sex and the City. The owners, who bought the townhouse for an estimated $10 million, installed a metal chain advising tourists to “not go on the staircase please.” The sign did not stop the actress from taking several photos on the steps in an impromptu photo shoot for her new shoe collection. “The owners are up in arms as they deal with relentless tourists, and SJP has ignored their requests for an explanation on how she could endorse the shoot, even though ‘no trespassing’ signs are posted,” a source told New York Post‘s Page Six. “SJP used their house during the years of filming, and now won’t acknowledge that she and her company used the steps and facade, this time without permission, to promote her shoe line.”

It’s not just the townhouse owners who are upset either. The president of the Pretty Street Association says the entire street is unhappy with tourists. “They didn’t get the permission from the owner,” he confirmed. “The situation with ‘SATC’ visitors is still very intense. People who live here get upset that the sidewalks are constantly jammed.” ~Kelly Townsend

Article doesn’t say WHEN the owners bought the townhouse.

If these are the same people who owned it during the time the show was filmed, are they just upset that they are not being paid? (They likely would have been paid well for a “location” fee back then.)

If these are new owners, they should have known (or been made aware) how iconic their new house is; and what comes along with that.

No respect, to me that says, ignorant. I’m sure SJP wouldn’t want people stomping all over her place she calls home. So what right does it give miss goody two shoes the right too?!
