The Dark Knight second-highest grossing film of all time

The Dark Knight movie posterThe Dark Knight made history in its fifth weekend in release, climbing past Star Wars ($461 million) to become the second-highest-grossing movie of all time at the domestic box office, after Titanic, which earned $600.7 million (all figures US) in its time. The Dark Knight‘s total box office to date is an incredible $471.5 million, having earned $16.8 million last weekend. After four weeks in the top spot at the box office, it was pushed into second place by Ben Stiller‘s controversial comedy Tropic Thunder, which earned $26 million in its debut weekend. Still in theaters, The Dark Knight will undoubtedly bring in more cash before its run is over, but it’s unlikely to surpass Titanic‘s record. Meanwhile, the newly released animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuted with only $15.5 million in third place at last weekend’s box office.

well deserved for a well done film
Not a Star Wars fan, didn’t see the last one and don’t plan to see the next one. Titanic was overrated I thought too, but maybe I am a little biased as James Cameron really rubs me the wrong way.

I think James Cameron’s work is excellent. Go figure! I have also saw his type of woman and I don’t believe that he would stoop to ‘rubbing’ YOU at all!! 😀
