Absolutely amazing!!! This is how all big budget films should be from now on. A great story, gorgeous visuals, and wonderful actors. The 3 hours just flew by. It is now my all time favourite movie.
It was more than I ever imagined!
Fantastic! I never felt so in awe at the cinema since seeing Star Wars and Empire strikes back, back to back in 1980...this brought about how a true cinematic experience is supposed to be. This is the first time Fantasy has come to the screen while taking itself seriously and they pulled it off wonderfully!
Well, this movie was pretty amazing as far as special effects go. I found the plot tedious in some parts and quite captivating in others. Overall a very good film, however I think I would`ve enjoyed it more had I read the books recently. I`ll give it a 3/5 stars. I`m sure Dwight would disagree though. - J
I think they did a good job. It`s not easy to put a good detailed novel into a movie.
Fantastic film...great adaptation of an even greater book!
Best movie ever made. Biggest achievment in film. The books will always be better, there is more detail, but this is just incredible. Hats off to PJ for pulling together a great movie based on a book. That`s an extremely hard task, and there is no better example of it the FOTR.
très bon film, fidèle au livre
It was a good movie. Showed plenty of awesome special effects and had good pace.
Most of the movie was too dark and `blue`.
The best movie ever, excellent cast and beautiful scenery. Jackson, you the man!
It was amazing...I can`t wait for the next two.
I hate most movies. I loved this one.
The movie was almost a perfect presentation of the books and it is a great work by Peter Jackson and all his crew. This is the best movie of the year for sure.
TRASH TRASH TRASH. another good book made into a bad movie
Amazing, the best movie I have seen since Gladiator
It gives me the jitters thinking about it- There are no words to explain my feelings of this movie-It was just so great!
Couldn`t have made a better epic film from one of the most pivotal books ever written. It gives more hope than the film "Pearl Harbour", considering Tolkein wrote the books during WWII. It was easy to be swept away by the splendor... MW
This movie is so great that it made me read all the books because I couldn`t wait for the ending.Defenitely one the best movies I have ever seen. It has everything imaginable and is just plainly magnificent movie.
By far THE greatest "novel-put-to-film" in the history of film. With most novel-based films there are always quite a bit of change and differences, with this one or two rather than 10 or 50. Its movies like this that make the Fantasy Genre what it is. Great for novel fans.
Jackson Tolkeinn`s books were plodding and boring. So was this movie. good effects and awesome sound. the plot was less than compelling. Still worthwhile to see on video. I give it a 3/5 stars - M
I loved this movie, it was incredible, the best I`d seen in years :-) I`ve read the books twice and love the story. I`ll go back to see it again as much as I can.
Well the movie was ok. Althought I thought Harry Potter had a more compelling story line. It would have been better, but the popcorn tasted burnt and the pop was way too expensive. Pricey for a matinee, I spent 10 bucks and then had to put up with some jerk behind me criticizing the effects and story line. I thought Sauron looked pretty convincing though - great makeup. I think I`ll see it again, but this time in a theatre that`s THX certified. Tolkein rocks!
Man this movie just sucked. It was too long, the effects were cheap and poorly done. Nothing was believable. The story didn`t even try to match the plot from Tolkien`s original material. Do not go see this if you don`t like wasting money.
Phenomenal!! Absolutely the best movie I have ever seen. It puts all other movies to shame.
it was great but the book will always be better!!!!! read it if you haven`t.
LOTR`s ROCKS!!!.....BEST MOVIE EVER!!!
amazing!
Amazing. Couldn`t have been better. I can`t wait to see it again!
In one word it Wicked !
1 word WOW lives upto ALL my expectations
I have to say that Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest movies I`ve seen this year! It`s got everything you could ever want in a movie. Action, excitement, love, evil and a story line that keeps you interested. I highly recommend going to see it. I can`t wait to see the rest of them when they come out!
it`s the best!
I`m a sci-fi/fantasy fan and this movie is the best book --> film adaptation I ve ever seen. Well, Star Wars may be better..I ll have to see LOTR again. My hat is off to Jackson!! well done..
Middle Earth brought to life in a perfect blend of fantasy and reality.
Ok, before The Matrix was released, my top 5 favourite movies were as follows: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. Star Wars 3. Return Of The Jedi 4. Planet of the Apes [original] 5. 2001: A Space Odyssey. After I saw The Matrix everthing got bumped down a notch and now with LOTR....it's now my favourite film of all time. Mr. Jackson has created a masterpiece! So what do others consider to be THEIR top 5 films of all time? Does LOTR make YOUR list?
Absolutely amazing! Definately worth the $6 (or whatever)! It certainly wasn t too long and they cut out a lot of the not-so-interesting stuff at the beginning and at the same time made it more understandable! (however that works i don t know) The match for Harry Potter has certainly come! :)
WoW, WoW, WoW, WOW!!!!!....that says it all.
Great... amazing how you can get the gist of such a huge story while cutting so much out... Definitely not too long... seeing it at midnight I didnt even look at my watch until 2:20 and then it was oh no it going to be over soon.. go see it often...
This is the best movie ever made! Well directed, great acting, excellent costume and design...it keeps you at the edge of your seat (I m sure everyone would agree to that) It s definately worth seeing again and again. It s deserves a ******.
It was a well done movie. I m not a fantasy/sci-fi fan, but it was still enjoyable. I felt some parts were too much, though, like the excessive close ups and chases.
It was.... just ..... I thought ...... actually, words can t describe just how good this film was.
One hour too long. Great effects, but I think I will rent the video for the second movie.
Great!
it was awesome all scenes that i pictured from reading the book where depicted in the movie the same way. I was like watching the book. Amazing Job Pete keep ot up. If ya thinked it sucked then get a life
An impressive adaptation of the best novel of the 20th century. Some details were changed and removed, but this can be expected since films have many restraints.
I`m a hardcore tolkien fan, and even though the film differs from the book i feel that the director Peter Jackson did a marvelous job in keeping with the tolkien-esque flavour. A job well done...
1 word: AMAZING!
So bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i liked everything but the ending ruined it all. they should have finished all three books in one showing.
