doing the best they can

April 21, 2014

yes, these theatres are old but what are you gunna do. if anyone else has millions of dollars free to build new ones, knock yourself out. The floors are sticky because everyone spills their pop cause apparently humans have become incapable of holding cups. The seats are broken because everyone puts their feet up on them. They’re seats not foot rests. I don’t want you feet by my head. The theatre is cold because it’s the Yukon. When it’s -40 outside, it’s gunna be pretty cold. I found the experience perfectly fine. they have updated technology like digital movies and 3D. I don’t see why everyone is complaining about the employees. They’re teenagers. I’m sure you were the same or worse at that age, I know I was. I found them polite and patient and I don’t think you’re appreciating them enough. I’ve seen some customers be truly awful to these kids. Overall, these theatres are doing the best they can with what they’ve got, They could always close them so you can’t go to any movies

Bunch of whiners

November 29, 2014

The theatres are fine. We should be happy we even have a theatre in Whitehorse, not to mention two of them. The sound and the picture quality are fine by my account. Yes the smiles exactly flowing from the workers and the odd sticky floor - no worse than down south. Stop whining people and be thankful.

Nice and easy!

February 21, 2018

While staying in the Yukon being housed at the Westmark Hotel, I found my exotic experience in 2 minutes walk! The theater is historic and although it is not up to date, I liked it! If I had trusted the comments in this webpage, I would have missed a very good time.

It is not the fault of the people who manage it

April 17, 2014

I do agree that the theatres need to be updated however the manager is doing there very best to keep it positive. There popcorn is not mouldy and I know for a fact it is made fresh a couple times a night as needed. I have met most of the staff and they are very pleasant and professional..if you go in there with the attitude you have as your negative thoughts then it will be very hard for anyone to deal with. I agree with the other persons comment regarding the sticky floor,,it is because pop is dumped on the floor,,,garbage is thrown on the floor as some people just don't care. Blame the owner if you want but not the people who are just trying to run it...

Needs Some Work!

June 21, 2014

As a 12 year old, I've been to this theatre countless times with friends and family. I've gotten used to this theatre, and it's disgustingness was normal for me. When I went to a theatre in Halifax, I was surprised. No pop on the floor? Where's the spilled popcorns? What do you mean there's sanitary washrooms?! I was astonished actually. I wish our theatres were like the ones all over the rest of Canada. Why must we suffer through the nauseating stench of our theatre, when everywhere else the customers are treated fairly. Plus, I should mention the prices are through-the-roof. 25$ for 2 large popcorns, 2 medium drinks and a candy? I don't think so. One of my main concerns with this theatre is that the movies playing beside you are loud and you quickly find yourself struggling to pay attention to the one you paid almost 25 dollars with snacks and your ticket. A new theatre is very desirable right now. WE WANT A NEW THEATRE LANDMARK!

Love movies

August 05, 2016

For all the people that are complaining, if it's that bad, stop going.. As for the panhandlers, that's not the theatre's fault.. They have up graded the screens and it's digital instead of reel and the sound is great. I go to watch the show, not eat, and the popcorn is popping as we r there so can't be stale. If the kids are getting short changed, that's too bad but go to the boss and complain to them, it's useless in here. And if it's that bad of a time, wait till it comes out on dvd and watch it at home. We enjoy our 2 times a month watching a movie in the theatre regardless of all the rest. Otherwise there is, like someone said, other theatres in Vancouver etc. (Only air fare, hotel, food etc... )
