Amanda Seyfried’s stage fright

Amanda SeyfriedAmanda Seyfried has always been ”scared s**tless” about performing on stage.

The 29-year-old actress was previously signed up to appear in 2013’s The Shape of Things, but the production was canceled. She’s currently set to make her off-Broadway debut in The Way We Get By, opposite Thomas Sadoski, and although she has auditioned in the past, she has always been wary of working in theatre.

She said: ”I always wanted to be up there. I wanted to do something else last year that ended up not happening. It was one of those things I kept putting off because I was scared s**tless. I never really felt ready for it until now. This is for me.”

With just over a month before the play previews, Amanda is still not over her fears of the stage, admitting: ”It makes me nervous to even think about it.”

Although Amanda has sung and danced in Les Miserables and Mamma Mia!, she insists she wouldn’t be disciplined enough for musical theatre.

She told Entertainment Tonight: ”Ugh, no, I can’t live like a singer. I love to sing, but not for work. Unless it’s a movie where you can put it all down in the recording studio and then forget about it.”
