Chloë Grace MoretzChloë Grace Moretz has urged her young fans to stop obsessing over fame.

The 18-year-old actress took to Twitter to post a heartfelt statement encouraging young people to aim for their wildest dreams rather than becoming obsessed by celebrity.

She wrote in a series of tweets: ”no high horse here.. but it is really hard for me to look around at my own generation and see that the majority of young people we see no longer feel the want to strive towards their wildest dreams, accomplish the impossible, but instead find that fame and excess is more appetizing.

”We are simply selling ourselves short. We all can achieve anything we set our minds to, we are in a time when minds and souls. Don’t let the state of our socially driven world perturb you from being who YOU are.

”Never forget that you can be whoever you want to be and you can achieve anything you set your heart and mind to, we are in a time when anything is possible.”

She also encouraged young people to broaden their minds by reading and finding out more about the world.

She said: ”Take advantage of this, make dreams come true. Read every book you can, learn from every single person you come in contact with, everything around you is a gift. Enjoy it. Be who You want to be, when you want to be that.”

Chloe’s next movie is science-fiction film The 5th Wave.
