Singer/songwriter Fiona Apple was arrested earlier this week when cops discovered a large amount of weed and hash on her tour bus. Drug-sniffing dogs were used to sweep the vehicle during a “routine” check at a U.S. Border Patrol Checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas when they uncovered the narcotics hidden in a blue backpack. Apple “freely admitted” the drugs were hers and spent a night in jail before being released yesterday on $10,000 bail. Sierra Blanca is the same town where singer Willie Nelson, rapper Snoop Lion and actor Armie Hammer were all caught for drug possession.

Read our review of the period drama The Birth of a Nation, about a slave in 19th century Virginia who stages an uprising against enslavement, which opens today.
No wonder she always looks so out of it…cause she’s always high. Good on her for owning up to it. I would’ve blamed it on my roadie
I bet thousands of people cross that border everyday with drugs. She was just the unlucky one who got caught. Marijuana is not even that bad anymore
marijuana was never bad and neither is hash, governments need to get smart ban alcohol which kills and legalize pot which doesn’t kill…. how many peeps overdoses on pot,,, 0 cases ever of death from marijuana! police should police real crimes like murder, quit wasting the courts time with stupid stuff like this. also they are hypocrites because alcohol is a drug too, so ban both or legalize the one that does no harm… logical but not to the governments…. sighs……
pot or alcohol = DUI
ban both.
anonymous = high hippie.
Good for her for owning up to it. Also because they can now claims ignorance and the bail would only be $10k..it’s a money grab for that town cause they know they can seach tour busses they know are travelling through and get easy money. Good thing someone owned up to it or the bail would have been $10k each let alone the fine amounts after the court hearing. This action saved her tour crew $$$.
@Anonymous Please let me know what a ‘roadie” is? Never heard of it in the English language b4. Thank you.
Good For Her for admitting she was at fault.
Yeah, who cares.
It’s not like she was under the influence of drugs while driving.
Rita a roadie is someone who works getting things set up for a concert – moving equipment, getting the stage set, tuning instruments, tearing down the stage and packing up after, etc.
they should just decriminalize these drugs already… if she wasnt under the influence or trafficking, who gives a crap if she has a personal stash?
