Michael Bay, who’s currently filming Transformers: Age of Extinction in Hong Kong, was attacked by three local men, according to Hong Kong newspaper Sharp Daily. A police spokeswoman told the paper that two brothers, with the surname Mak, and a man named Chan, who own a shop near where the filming is taking place, approached the director to ask for compensation for lost revenue because they felt the film’s production was having a negative impact on their business. When Bay didn’t comply, one of the brothers swung an air conditioning unit at his head. Paramount has released a statement in regards to the incident:
“Contrary to several erroneous news reports made today, Bay did not get hurt in a fight on set. The production company did have a bizarre encounter with a man (allegedly under the influence of a narcotic substance) who was wielding an air conditioning unit as a weapon. The man, who had earlier accosted several other crew members, rushed onto the set in Quarry Bay and swung the air conditioning unit directly at Bay’s head. The director ducked and wrested the air conditioner from his attacker, preventing what could have been a serious accident. The company’s security team quickly stepped in and subdued the assault. The police, who also scuffled with the assailant and two of his companions, ultimately arrested the three men. No one on the cast or crew was injured and the production immediately resumed filming without further incident.”
Mark Wahlberg, pictured above with Bay, stars in Transformers: Age of Extinction, but it’s believed he was not on the set at the time of the attack.

Walberg would have tuned them good.
^… agreed
He needs to stop making these awful movies
He should have been hit with something bigger than an air conditioner, followed by a giant explosion with bullets whizzing by, and another slow motion explosion, and then boobs.
So they were assholes, even if the movies aren’t so beautiful…at all, just violence, bleak jokes and dialogues, great fx without a strong story etc…let him do his work, violence is ALWAYS the wrong way. Hey Bay, again, please don’t ruin TMNT ;).
Thank so very Much 4making the Transformers movies! The last one was Incredible! I’m happy you and all the crew are OK!
as the camera does a slow-mo panning move around the director viewed from the ground up…
Tell some crew members to go into this guys store and spend a few buck, he will be happy. Don’t film crews spend so much money it supposedly generates millions to local economies where they shoot?
