Alex Pettyfer joins ‘The Butler’

I Am Number Four actor Alex Pettyfer has reportedly joined the cast of The Butler. This film comes from Precious director Lee Daniels and is based on the true story of Eugene Allen, who was a butler in the White House for 50 years under eight different presidents. Pettyfer is set to play the role of a young man, Thomas Westphall, whom the butler encounters in his youth. Considering this is not one of the main characters in the film, screen time for Pettyfer is likely to be short. The main role will be played by The Last King of Scotland actor Forest Whitaker, and his wife will be played by Oprah Winfrey. Other cast members include Harry Potter‘s Alan Rickman, Monster-in-Law actress Jane Fonda and Iron Man actor Terrence Howard. Shooting is set to commence this July in New Orleans with an expected release date in late 2013. Alex next stars on the big screen opposite Channing Tatum in the new movie Magic Mike, opening June 29. ~Stacy Raivich
