Angelina Jolie naked in Beowulf?

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 15, 2007 | 34 Comments

Angelina Jolie in BeowulfAngelina Jolie says she felt exposed after seeing herself naked in the new movie Beowulf, even though her character was animated.

Following a screening of the film, she called her partner Brad Pitt to warn him about the nudity.

According to People.com, she said, “I was really surprised that I felt that exposed. There are certain moments where I felt actually shy—and called home, just to explain that the fun movie that I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different than we expected.”

While walking the red carpet at the London premiere, Angelina commented: “I think it’s remarkable that it has the rating it has,” because in Britain, even kids younger than 12 can see the movie if accompanied by an adult. “It’s quite an extraordinary film and some of it shocked me,” she admitted.

So she felt shy… so what?
If this is really the way she felt, so be it. I don’t really get, though, why so many of you seem to be upset about it… I mean, this is literally a none story.

The way they say it it makes it sound like she didn;t know there would be nudity . Aren’t they supposed to ask her permission even if it’s animated/digital or whatever it is? They made it sound like she thought she was going to see Finding Nemo and instead saw herself naked. It is abit odd that she would feel shy when everyone has seen her naked alreay (Gia) but oh well.

Does anybody really care how she felt, most actors in Hollywood would do anything for a buck. And now she’s got all those extra mouths to feed. Tell us quick what’s Britney up to today?

I wonder how she will explain to her daugther she was conceived when her father was still married with her good friend.

There breasts, get over it. Good for you Angie, being an actor myself i feel she is doing her job well, for those who watch shows for that kinda thing, Looks like your in for a good scene. If Kevin Bacon can do it so can she.

Who cares if she has exposed herself before? I’d understand why she was shy and taken aback even if she’s been nude in movies before. There’s a difference between knowing and expecting that you’re going to be naked in a movie vs. making a movie and finding out after the fact that you’re “nude” – even if it is an animation. At least she’s taken it in stride after the initial shock – which she herself said she was surprised about.

Judging from some of your comments, it’s pretty obvious that some of you hate and resent her (probably becuz she stole your favorite Friend’s husband – even though they were having marital problems before she came into the picture but that’s fine. But c’mon people, really – get over it. Even Jen has moved on…) but I agree with Adam – she’s not perfect, but she has come a long way from the rebellious, drug-taking, in-your-face blood-carrying necklace wearing Angelina. She’s got kids now which changes/matures a person (well, except Britney…).

    Ahhh! She’s still a TRAMP!!!!

Stone cold fox, even animated! I haven’t been this turned on by animation since ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’.

  15. Nancy • November 17, 2007 @ 12:52 AM

    LMFAO!!!

Give her a break….Aniston is no angel…IF YOUR A SHEEP YOUR MEANT TO BE SHEARED…IN OTHER WORDS IF YOU DONT HAVE THE GOODS TO HOLD ON TO YOUR MAN STOPP BOO HOOING.

  17. Pat • November 17, 2007 @ 10:56 AM

For heaven’s sake people…. give it a rest. People are allowed to mature…. you do alot of crazy things when you are younger and not a parent. Would I do the same things today, that I did when I was younger. Definitely not.. Give the poor woman a break!

  18. Jim • November 17, 2007 @ 11:47 AM

I must agree with Pat, give it a break , Miss Jolee is allowed to regret past mistakes and change her ways. She should be allowed to do things differently as her situation changes.
Nothing is static, all things change

  19. LH • November 18, 2007 @ 1:24 PM

Feelings are not things that people can control. We can only control our behaviour after having the feeling. Whether you like Angelina Jolie or not, she’s entitled to have her feelings. I think we should be more concerned with her comment regarding her shock at seeing herself that way. It does sound like she was unaware she would be shown naked, which could be a violation of her rights, which is NEVER okay.

  20. RH • November 18, 2007 @ 3:13 PM

You are so wrong LH. Any nudity, whether it be real or animated, would have to have been cleared by the artist. It would have been included in her contract. She was WELL aware of the scene in the film. Her comments are geared toward presenting herself as a concerned parent, thats it. A woman who has done the amount of nudity that Angelina Jolie has, is a hypocrite when she “objects” to further of the same.

Her concerns are appropriate when you look at the rating of the film in Britain, but as far as her being shy, I and anyone with a trace of common sense, don’t buy it.

  21. Elaine • November 18, 2007 @ 6:14 PM

Nothing shy about Jolie!! She’s just made that statement to draw attention to the fact that there is nudity so people will all dash out to see the movie. Think! It’s all about publicity, nothing more. Anyway, her lips are overweight.

  22. Arnold • November 18, 2007 @ 7:10 PM

“Her Lips are overweight” very funny observation. As for for the article we will eat anything up. I wonder what colour her shoes were when she made the statement?

  23. George • November 18, 2007 @ 9:52 PM

I have to agree, Angelina knew very well that her character would be nude, it would have been in her contract. And she’s definitely never been shy about being naked in a movie before – not only in Gia, but she had a pretty intense sex scene in Taking Lives. She plays up her sexuality all the time, but then tries to act like an innocent for her kids’ sake, and for all of her charities. Like Elaine said, she made that comment for publicity – her own and her movies’. She isn’t even close to the innocent that she’d like everyone to believe she’s morphed into – she’s still the woman who has a history of hooking up with her leading men, married or not.

  24. Nancy • November 19, 2007 @ 10:59 AM

Oh yeah! Leopards don’t change their spots!! Once a tramp…..always a tramp!!!

  25. mzk • November 20, 2007 @ 2:05 AM

Ahh..for all the sore peeps with their opinionated judgment calls on how angelina is not representing ‘model’ behavior, she’s only sharing her personal feelings with you, refrain from pretending you have a clue what her life is about, please. I appreciate her honesty at face value because her actions in the whole represent a much deeper person than may be shown on one movie or comment.

  26. mzk • November 20, 2007 @ 2:08 AM

btw I say this after watching beowulf today and even though I had some idea of what she would look like on the animation, even I was taken aback with the digital graphics clarity (esp on IMAX) and found myself wondering if I’d feel comfy bringing family with me.

I too, after seeing all the spots and trailers couldnt have known till I saw it..btw the movie’s great so go watch it.

  27. mzk • November 20, 2007 @ 2:12 AM

just saw her specific comments and they pertain to her feeling shy because of how real she looked or how much she ‘came out’ on screen.
she wasnt trying to act coy or dumb about the onscreen nude look just after seeing the screening she felt a lil shy….argument put to rest

  28. Nancy • November 20, 2007 @ 3:59 PM

    Hogwash!! She’s still a tramp!! LOL.(but true).

  29. Anonymous • November 21, 2007 @ 12:14 PM

  30. Kristin • November 21, 2007 @ 12:25 PM

Respect her decision to do what? Be shy? Do people decide to be shy?

  31. Anonymous • November 25, 2007 @ 2:54 PM

    can you spell eating dissorder?

  33. Trish • November 26, 2007 @ 8:16 PM

Everyone can have a rebel stage growing up and Angelina sure had hers. I think it’s unfair to lambaste someone for something done in her youth and simply forget:

    a) she’s in the entertainment biz therefore we expect her to act differently and even encourage her to do so by purchasing cheap rags pretending to be legitimate newspapers/magazines;
    b) how many of us can say they haven’t done something stupid and regrettable in their past? None of us live in glass houses so don’t throw stones;
    c) she’s done more in her short life to give aid to the disenfranchised, destitute, starving masses than we could ever hope to do in our lifetimes. We haven’t encouraged HER to do so – perhaps she’s encouraging US to do so?
    d) how many of us would actually adopt children of other races if we had the money and wherewithal to do so? Furthermore, how many other celebrities use their clout to champion such causes as Darfur? Small list, isn’t it?

Stop being so narrow-minded and accept Angelina Jolie for who she is – a human being, a woman, a mother and yes, an actress. She’s living life large – take a hint and follow her remarkable steps into adulthood.

  34. Jemie • December 8, 2007 @ 11:44 AM

Hmmm… after carefully monitoring the situation, I have come to my conclusion… she’s a little tramp.
