Arnold Schwarzenegger in talks for Toxic Avenger remake

Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink is remaking the 1984 action comedy The Toxic Avenger and Arnold Schwarzenegger may join the cast. The original film was directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman and followed the story of a mop boy who falls into toxic waste and becomes a mutant superhero. Although the original film was not a box office or critical success, it did turn out to be a cult favorite with a large following. If Schwarzenegger does join the cast, he won’t be playing the title role. Instead, the actor is apparently set to play a character known as “The Exterminator,” an ex-black ops agent and mentor for the protagonist of the movie.  His casting has not yet been confirmed, but filming is set to commence this fall. ~Stacy Raivich
