Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s former bodyguard Mark Billingham, 51, recently told the Sun that he was basically like a father for the star couple’s kids. This news comes almost a month after Angelina filed for divorce.
Mark was their head of security for 18 months and prior to that, he spent 27 years in the British Special Forces. His main priority was the safety of their six kids – Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. He said: “The biggest concern for them was the kidnapping of the kids, it’s all about money. Angie and Brad are very worried about who goes near the children.”
He shared that the Hollywood couple trusted him and that he was one of the few people who was allowed close to the children. “It was clear from the start we had a great chemistry and they trusted me with the kids. We got very close, I was living with them all the time. I could take the kids anywhere I wanted to on my own. No one else was allowed to do that.”
He revealed that even if he had friends with him, they weren’t allowed in close proximity to the kids. “I took them swimming. I fathered them, basically.”
Aside from his security duties, Billingham was also responsible for making the couple look presentable. He said: “What surprised me was their low level of common sense. I found it crazy when they would ask me questions like, ‘How do I go down to that bar?’ and ‘What do I need to do to get there?’ They’re not stupid, but because of the world they live in they just haven’t done something like that for so long. I found that weird.”
