Britney Spears has reportedly gained 14 lbs in two months because she is comfort eating. The singer got in shape last year while she was on the road with her Circus tour, but since the live shows ended her weight has ballooned. It has been claimed the 28-year-old singer has started eating junk food because she misses touring and is feeling “suffocated” by her father Jamie Spears. Jamie has been co-conservator of Britney’s estate since her meltdown in 2008, meaning he has control over her personal and professional affairs. The star is desperate for the conservatorship to be removed and wants to be able to make her own decisions about her life. “She felt on a high after the tour and swore she’d keep up her dancing, exercising and diet. But, a month later, she was finding it hard,” a source told Closer magazine. “She feels she has to suppress her feelings, whether it be anger or frustration, because she’ll be judged on it for future court dates. She thinks she has to be careful, even around her family, and she’s finding it suffocating. She has found it difficult to exert any self-control over her eating.” Britney reportedly began comfort eating last December, after a judge extended her conservatorship. Her weight gain has started to affect her self-confidence, but she is reportedly struggling to resist giving into her cravings for fatty foods. The conservatorship will be active for at least another six months and Britney doesn’t believe she will be happy until it has been lifted. “Britney feels like she still has a lot to prove and, until she’s got control of her personal life and career once more, she won’t feel she’s been successful in doing it,” a source explained.
