Hari Puttar wins legal battle with Harry Potter

A judge has ruled against Harry Potter and Warner Bros., saying that the Bollywood film Hari Puttar is not infringing on copyrights.  Warner Bros, which owns the rights to the Harry Potter movies, insisted the Indian film sounded too similar to the popular boy wizard, saying the film’s title “unfairly sought to confuse consumers and benefit from the well-known and well-loved Harry Potter brand.” Hari Puttar – A Comedy of Terrors follows the adventures of a 10-year-old Indian boy who moves with his parents to England. Harry Potter begins with Harry as a 10-year-old, but the similarity stops there, as he’s an orphan and goes on to discover he’s a wizard. The Bollywood film’s producers said it “bears no resemblance to the Hollywood film Harry Potter and it is a completely different story.” The judge ruled against Warner Bros, saying that Hari is a common Indian name, while Puttar is Hindi for son, and found that the story bore no similarity to the Harry Potter series.

Take that Rowling and WB, you stupid cows. You have made your millions, sorry billions. If someone decides to name their kid Harry Potter, will you sue them as well??

Why don’t you try to understand a different language besides English maybe that would have resulted in some savings bunch of low lifes.

Ohh yea, thanks for changing the date for the Harry Potter movie… or is it Hari Puttar. Oh no I am sooo confused.

Another example of corporate greed… what a stupid and ignorant lawsuit. I think people can percieve the difference just by reading the title and the fact that Harry Potter isn’t fully animated, huh?
