Ice Cube blasts MTV for Paul Walker win

By Tribute News on April 15, 2014 | 8 Comments

Ice Cube Ice Cube has blasted the MTV Movie Awards for giving the Best Onscreen Duo trophy to Paul Walker posthumously. The rapper believes the Fast & Furious 6 star, who died in a car crash in November, and his co-star Vin Diesel only won out of ''sympathy'' on Sunday night, and insists he and his Ride Along co-star Kevin Hart were ''robbed.'' The 44-year-old actor told USA Today newspaper: ''We was robbed. Shame on you, MTV.'' He added: ''We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy. We were the best onscreen duo, period.'' Paul was also honored during a special tribute led by his co-star Jordana Brewster at the star-studded event. But Ice Cube claims he wasn't suggesting the late actor, 40, wasn't talented enough to receive the accolade, saying: ''They should have gave it to him before he passed away.'' The actor also left the ceremony, hosted by Conan O'Brien at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, mid-show because he wasn't enjoying himself. He said: ''I just wasn't into it. I have been going in and out of these things for 25 years. If you ain't into it, why torture yourself? As soon as you get bored, get up and leave.'' Shortly before the awards, he wrote on Twitter: ''On my way to the MTV movie awards. If me and Kevin Hart don't win. The fix is in.''

I love Ice Cube as an artist and an actor….he is right about how they got robbed…however if he had just showed a bit of class and be humble. Then again it is Ice Cube and he says whats on his mind without regret. Looking forward to the second “Ride Along” movie.

What an A-Hole. While I agree that they probably won out of sympathy, Emotions and memories run high at awards when someone passes, You do not say that you deserved it more. Be Humble and respectful. Dont be an AssHole.

Yup. He should have taken the higher ground, but really, it’s an MTV award. How can you covet the value when they give an award for best shirtless performance?

Ice Cube you are being unfair. Of course they have to give it to Paul Walker for Fast and the furious 6. But the movie wasn’t that great. Creating another one after this one the movie won’t be that great. Ice Cube your movie didn’t have a good concept to follow that is why your movie didn’t win. Don’t be mad. No they didn’t have to give it to Paul Walker last year before he died. He deserve an award for the movie. Ice Cube don’t be a jerk and except the outcome for what happened.

Thanks for showing how idiotic you can be, Ice Cube. Let’s think about this for a minute, you are actually whining because you didn’t win a MTV Movie Award? Yeah, the same award show that features the best kiss, best topless scene and whatever other crazy thing that MTV can think of that year. Show a little class, dude. Reminds me of Drake getting all upset because his cover of Rolling Stone was cancelled for Philip Seymour Hoffman. Even if you feel that you have been wronged, it is the wrong time to make a public statement about it. You just sound like a jerk.

I was robbed when I paid $7 for Ride Along. It’s pretty sad that Ice Cube is so desperate for an MTV movie award. That just shows you he’s not a good actor. And to win best duo, BOTH actors have to be good. Kevin Hart was really good. Ice Cube sucked. And please speak properly. You’re how old now?
