Adam Sandler criticized for inappropriately touching Claire Foy

Adam Sandler
is being slammed on Twitter following an appearance on BBC’s The Graham Norton Show.
During the appearance, Adam was sitting next to Claire Foy (The Crown), and repeatedly placed his hand on her knee.
Adam’s spokesperson claims the gesture has been “blown out of proportion.” A representative for Claire stated, “We don’t believe anything was intended by Adam’s gesture and it has caused no offence to Claire.”
During the interview Claire and Adam sat between Emma Thompson and Cara Delevingne, and while Adam’s hand was on Claire’s knee, she placed her hand over his to alert him to her discomfort. Claire is visibly uncomfortable during the conversation and looks to be frustrated while trying to deal with the situation discreetly. He finally placed it back onto his own knee, but repeated the gesture later. He also touched Emma’s leg periodically.
Fans of The Graham Norton Show took to Twitter to voice their concerns, saying things such as: “Adam Sandler has no social awareness,” and “Claire Foy replacing Adam Sandler’s hand onto his own knee rather than hers was the perfect ‘haha don’t touch me again’ move.”
This backlash comes in the wake of the Weinstein scandal that has started a much more open dialogue on sexual harassment and consent. ~Hayley Michaud

Bad Adam! Seriously you don’t do that anyway…especially in light of all the sexual assault allegations lately. Dummy. But really why would you touch her leg or anyone else’s.
Everybody calm down. It’s a hand on a knee, not intercourse.
He’s such a pig. Could she have squirmed anymore to let him know it was inappropriate? So he does it again. I’m sure she was thinking, “Americans.”
People are blowing it out. Yes he should have paid more attention and not done it But he moves his hand when she pushed it.
Even her rep says she said thru her rep it caused no offence to her.
People should just mind their own damn life and stop criticizing every single thing. Don’t be the first to throw a rock if you live in a glass house.
So “visibly uncomfortable” and “glaring” means laughing joyfully now? Okay…… Seriously, he didn’t even do it in a sexual way and like people are poiting out, he was moving his hand away before she even reached out to brush him off.
I think this was blown up a bit much so I’m going to put forth what I saw from the clip. She actually looked a bit taken with him from my perspective. Celebrities get star struck too and Sandler seems very charismatic and likeable to men and women. She did appear to be taken back that he reached for her unexpectedly while he was talking to someone else. When she reached for him to reciprocate his hand was already off her knee and made contact with his hand on his knee to fulfill that contact. Its like when you say Hi to someone and they don’t quite see you engaging them. There is a slight feeling of rejection most of us feel even though we know they didn’t see. That is why he put his hand back for a second time, without lingering but only after she placed her hand on his reaffirming there was no slight even welcoming the contact. In truth, she actually looked a bit giddy about it. Possibly there is a little crush in there…..? Of course she would have to say what her true feelings are about it because we can all speculate about what we saw but only she can tell us if it was inappropriate as she was the one who was touched. That being said, if we get hyped up about every little thing male celebrities do now that ‘looks’ bad then the real crimes are going to start to be ignored after finally getting noticed.
I’m positive he did that to cause a stir. It’s easy for everyone to be so paranoid when it comes to these things! Way to cause a stir Adam!!!
