If you’ve seen Fantastic Four, you probably know that four individuals gain extraordinary abilities after teleporting to an alternate and dangerous universe. Ben, played by Jamie Bell, turns into The Thing, a super strong hero who is made of rocks and can’t turn back into his human form when he wants. But how did they incorporate Jamie Bell’s characteristics into The Thing? What are the visual effects that transformed him?
This behind-the-scenes featurette shows Ben’s visual effects and some of the mixed methods in his performance. The facial shape capture focuses on different expressions and it’s interesting to see Jamie work on those. Check out the video above!
Fantastic Four arrives on Digital HD today and on Blu-ray/DVD on December 15.
