Hobbit director Peter Jackson has lent out his own $80-million dollar private jet in an effort to aid the search efforts for missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370. The Gulfstream G650 is searching over the oceans off the coast of Australia. According to Jackson’s rep, he is not doing this for publicity. “Peter would not seek publicity for something like this and would actively avoid it in fact,” Jackson’s spokesperson Matt Dravitzki told the New Zealand Herald. “A lot of civilian and military aircraft are involved in the search and it’s kind of disappointing that because one is owned by a celebrity it becomes a matter of news when there are [over] 200 people missing.” This is not the first time Jackson has helped someone in need. He and his wife helped get the three men known as the West Memphis Three released from jail in 2011 after spending 18 years behind bars for a crime he and many others believe they did not commit. ~Tarah Bleier

Although Power Rangers features an LGBTQ protagonist, which is against Malaysia’s film censorship rules, the action movie will screen in the conservative country.

Peter Jackson doesn’t know how to use email. The award-winning director is the creative force behind ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’, which features lots of impressive-looking special effects, but Peter concedes he still struggles with tech…
He has a private jet? Very environmentally concious
