Hollywood casting news – Lucas Till, Ben Foster and more

A coming of age drama, a classic monster flick and two Olympian biopics lead Tribute’s casting update for Hollywood’s rising stars.

* Lucas Till, 23, will be starring alongside Joel Courtney, 17, in Gary Entin’s teen drama Sins of Our Youth. Production is already underway in Las Vegas for the film, which follows four teenagers who accidentally kill a boy while playing with assault rifles. Be sure to catch Till’s return as Havok in the X-Men franchise when X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, 2014.

* Les Misérables star Samantha Barks, 22, has joined the cast of Universal’s upcoming Dracula origin story. Fellow Brit Luke Evans, 34, will don the sharp fangs for the role of the Transylvanian prince who became the world’s most famous vampire. Barks will play a “baba yaga,” an Eastern European figure of a young woman who transforms into a witch. The film will be helmed by Gary Shore and is scheduled for an August 8, 2014 release date.

* Skins graduate Jack O’Connell is traveling across the pond for his first major Hollywood feature. The British actor has been cast as the lead for Angelina Jolie‘s latest directorial effort, Unbroken, an adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling biography about Olympian-turned-WWII hero Louis Zamperini. Expect O’Connell to film some disturbing scenes – Zamperini was tortured for over three years inside a Japanese prison camp. It is set for a Christmas 2014 release.

* Ben Foster has been acting for a long time now, but his next role could be his biggest yet. The 32-year-old actor is set to play infamous Olympian Lance Armstrong in Stephen Frears‘ untitled biopic. The film will cover his rise to success as a seven-time Tour de France champion to his recent downfall over a drug scandal. The filming start date has yet to be announced. However, they may want to start soon since they’ll be competing with Bradley Cooper‘s own Armstrong pic for Warner Brothers.
