Comedian Jerry Lewis, 86, collapsed Tuesday night just moments before he was to present an award to Tom Cruise at a star-studded Friars Club gala hosted by Alec Baldwin. Performers at the event included Bill Hader, Cuba Gooding Jr., Robin Thicke and the cast of Broadway’s Rock of Ages. The legendary funnyman was set to receive the group’s Applause Award and was also scheduled to present Tom with the night’s most prestigious award — the Entertainment Icon Award. This award has only been presented to three people before Cruise — Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Douglas Fairbanks. While accepting his award, the 49-year-old Top Gun actor told the audience, “I am sorry Jerry couldn’t be here tonight, but I know he is going to be fine.” Lewis’ collapse was due to low blood sugar and he was released from the hospital later that night. ~Stacy Raivich

I bet he just didn’t wanna give Tom the award because he agrees that he DOESNT deserve it!
“Icon” is being used very loosely these days!!
Roma an arrogant, self seeking, egotistical parasite that feeds from the entertainment trough. He’s in caring. In kind, selfish, self proclaimed god of the male body and he thinks everyone loves him.
Well TOM, I challenge you to come to NovaScotia and change my mind!
