Mel Gibson dumps Russian girlfriend

Remember when good ole’ Mel decided to leave his wife for his pregnant mistress? Well, not even a full year later, we’re sad (okay, not really) to report the couple have split. Oksana Grigorieva (aka The Russian mistress), gave birth to their five-month-old baby girl, Lucia, late last year. Even though this is Gibson’s eight child (he has seven with ex-wife Robyn Moore) and Grigorieva’s second, “They just drifted apart,” a friend of the couple told People magazine. Who knew having a child would put such a damper on a hot new relationship? The couple reportedly met in 2008 on the set of Edge of Darkness and were spotted spending quality time in his trailer before finding a fancy Ritz-Carlton Hotel room. Gibson claimed to be “separated” from his wife at the time but hadn’t filed for divorce. In early 2009, Robyn filed, which, lets face it, is probably when she realized Gibson had found someone else to act as a “live-in baby maker”! Mel and Oksana say they’ll “remain friends and still raise the baby together,” but it might be a little difficult. The 50-something father is in Mexico filming his new movie, and the 30-something musician mommy is scheduled to perform in Russia. Yeah, okay… you let us know how raising that child goes from halfway around the world, Mel! ~Alana Britten
