The Flash speeds to the top of the weekend box office

Ezra Miller and Sasha Calle in The FlashTwo new movies released this weekend and immediately landed in the top five, although they both pulled in less than expected. The Flash starring Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton debuted in the number one spot at the weekend box office, taking in $55.1 million.

Also making its debut in theaters was the new Disney/Pixar animated film Elemental, which took second place with $29.5 million.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse dropped one spot to third place. The animated film took in an extra $27.8 million for a three-week total of $280.4 million. Click here to read our review.

Last weekend’s top movie, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts plummeted to fourth place, earning an additional $20 million for a two-week total of $100.6 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey as Ariel. It dropped two spots, taking in another $11.6 million for a four-week total domestic take of $253.6 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron

    TERRIBLE movie the worst movie of the year thus far i think it is time to pull the plug on super heroe comic bookk movies DC and marvel111
