Australian heartthrob Liam Hemsworth is finally speaking out about The Hunger Games director shake-up and he’s not happy about it. The actor, who plays Gale in the massively popular franchise, told E! News at a recent event that he expected director Gary Ross to stick around for the entire series. “I’m really sad to see Gary’s not going to be a part of the second one. He did such an amazing job on the first.” While disappointed, Hemsworth said he’s excited to work with new director, Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants) and assured fans that the people behind Catching Fire are still dedicated to producing the best film they possibly can. “I think there’s still so many people a part of it that want the film to be great and care about it so much that they’re not going to bring the wrong person on.” In April, Ross left the franchise, saying the tight turnaround left little time for him to properly put together the sequel he wanted to make. Co-star Josh Hutcherson has also expressed sadness over Ross’s exit. ~Kyle Sharp

A bevy of speculation has been swirling around the all-female reboot of Ocean’s Eleven, and now confirmed director Gary Ross is speaking out to tease some long-awaited details about the upcoming caper flick.
Biggest career mistake EVER on Gary’s part!
As long as the new director gets good shots of Jennifer Lawrence (can’t be too hard), everything should be A-OK
I don’t know, Harry Potter movies were never as good as the first one that Chris Columbus directed. He should have done them all. Gary Ross is an A-List director. They’ll probably hire B-list directors now who want something good on their resume. The rest of the movies probably won’t be as good. A director can make or break a film.
Having read the books, I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie. It was really slow at the beginning and didn’t capture and relate me emotionally to the characters like the book did so well. I’ll admit that the “I volunteer as tribute!” scene was stirring, but until the games started, the rest was pretty boring. It was definitely faithful to the books, but something was missing. Hopefully a different director can help with that missing piece.
