Lourdes headed for Hogwarts?

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 22, 2007 | 80 Comments

Madonna and daughter LourdesMadonna‘s daughter, Lourdes Leon, may be making her acting debut soon. British newspaper The Sun reports that Warner Bros. has approached 11-year-old Lourdes, also known as Lola, to offer her a small role in the next Harry Potter movie. An inside source told the newspaper: “After all her (Lourdes’) recent appearances, looking more like a sophisticated teen than a child, the attention on her is really growing. An executive at Warners wanted to cast Lola in the last Potter film and has renewed his interest for the next movie. Lola would love to do it—she is a huge fan.”

Must be nice to have had both feet in the door from the time you were conceived!!!!

  2. Anonymous • November 22, 2007 @ 8:09 PM

Poor Nancy…So jealous of an 11 year old
    Poor you!!

  3. Nancy • November 22, 2007 @ 10:53 PM

Definitely not jealous, just someone who works hard and EARNS her keep!! Oh, and has enough GUTS to name herself of course!!!! LOL.

  4. Gina • November 23, 2007 @ 12:26 AM

I recall Madonna once saying her kids were never going to be in limelight. The whole point of living where she does is to shelter them from all the Hollywood crap. I agree with Nancy, definately had both feet in; offspring surpasses talent.

  5. Dana • November 23, 2007 @ 7:52 AM

Parnets realize eventually that their children have to follow their own path, make their own mistakes to learn from. Let Lourdes decide and give her a chance. I don’t blame Madonna from sheltering Hollywood from her, but I agree with Gina that there are already many talented young children actors out there who may never get a chance, because they are not already famous.
Then there is Dakota Fanning who seems to get the part every time. Is there no other new talent out there to choose from?

  6. Caroline • November 23, 2007 @ 9:07 AM

I’m simply surprised that they would approach a ‘known’ child, period. I thought the whole point of the Harry Potter movies was that they only had unknown/undiscovered child actors play the roles of the students.

  7. jane • November 23, 2007 @ 9:14 AM

I agree with everyone, the one thing is she will have plenty of time over the Xmas holidays to work as she will not have any present’s to open, and her Mother has no time for Jusus. So what do they do over Xmas but work and make more money.

  8. DLish • November 23, 2007 @ 9:14 AM

    Good for Lola!
But, let’s hope she’s inherited her dad’s acting chops! Seriously, I think she’ll be fantastic!

  9. Lola • November 23, 2007 @ 9:15 AM

Harry Potter movies have to look good so I guess the director wants more views. There is plenty of time and and plent more movies fo rother children to get in…….if you are so jealous then sign your own kid up instead of picking on LOLA!!!!!!!

  10. Nancy • November 23, 2007 @ 9:23 AM

truth hurts eh? We ALL know that there is only one reason that she is even being considered for this role………I won’t even waste my time typing it!!!

  11. jane • November 23, 2007 @ 9:34 AM

They all belong to the same cult Ha Ha.

  12. L.R.RAHN • November 23, 2007 @ 9:42 AM

Madonna has always spoke with forked tongue. She says one thing and it is always the other.
Her daughter and son will very soon find that out as all kids do.

  13. Luke • November 23, 2007 @ 9:43 AM

I think you all have to much time on your hands

  14. Nancy • November 23, 2007 @ 9:44 AM

yeah, next thing you know, they will have little Suri Cruise flying around on a broom stick too!!! LMFAO.

  15. jane • November 23, 2007 @ 9:49 AM

That was very good Nancy, I liked that.

  16. Michael • November 23, 2007 @ 9:51 AM

    Dana,

Jodelle Ferland is Canada’s Dakota Fanning, there are movies I’d rather see her — Jodelle Ferland — get before them even considering Dakota Fanning for the role…of course that is just my opinion.

  17. me • November 23, 2007 @ 10:20 AM

Another little prosti-tot in the making.

  18. c • November 23, 2007 @ 10:21 AM

OMG people – calm down! It’s the studio execs that are saying they are interested in Lourdes – it’s not Madonna pushing her daughter into acting. And there are a lot of celebrity children that are not part of the ‘biz’… or at least not in the lime light. Ultimately it’s their choice. If the kid wants to try it – let her be. I don’t know any 11 year old that turn down such an opportunity!

  19. me • November 23, 2007 @ 10:29 AM

Oh, puh-leeze! She is her mothers daughter, you don’t need a crystal ball to see how this one’s gonna turn out!

  20. b jones • November 23, 2007 @ 10:43 AM

Must have talent. Not her looks certainly, which she appears to have inherited from her mum. Poor kid. Poor movie director, if he has to succumb to coercion to cast the rich and fatuous!

  21. me • November 23, 2007 @ 10:46 AM

Right, Teresa, keep dreaming. Madonna slept her way to the top, and I have no doubt that little Lourdes is about to follow in Mommy’s footsteps. Just wait and see…

  22. Ximena • November 23, 2007 @ 11:00 AM

I think it is so wrong for actor to put there children in the limelight when they know what they have to go through, although I love watching movies with Dakota Fanning, she is such a great child actress and a good example to other children, but let’s see how it all turns out for Lourdes, shall we?

Are you guys always so negative and bitter sounding…this was my first time reading through the comments after an article and I have to say, with very few exceptions I feel very sorry for you. Get lives of your own to obsess over for goodness sakes.

  27. Donna • November 23, 2007 @ 11:47 AM

I’m a little disturbed at the comments on Lola’s appearance. I don’t suppose it’s occurred to any of you that she would have access to this page and would be deeply hurt by the negative comments about her appearance. Being a mother, I am horrified at what that could do to permanently damage a young person’s self esteem. Shame on you for being so insenstive. I believe Madonna has a stunning appearance and I was pleasantly surprised to see her daughter looks so much like her. Beauty doesn’t only belong to the blue eyed blonde California Beach Babes. I think Lola is much better looking than Sarah Jessica Parker. There’s a woman who does a lot with what she’s been given! Beauty is subjective and you’re very close minded for making those comments.

  28. Elmo • November 23, 2007 @ 12:00 PM

i read somewhere that the writer of the books said that shes only gonna cast people that are British, cuz of thier accents, madonnas kid doesnt have a british accent, so i doubt that the book writer will stand for some rich punk kid to come in without the accent that dam near all other characters have… so dont hold your breath seeing her in the next film

  29. Kevin Hunt • November 23, 2007 @ 12:04 PM

Congrats Lourdes,i hope you get the part its so sad that people only see negative things,i guess this makes them feel better for there short commings in life or maybe some have the silver spoon themselves but dont have any talent.just be happy for her and sit back and enjoy the movie,if we measured our lifes by the mistakes our family,s made thenlife would even suck more.have a good day….Kevin

  30. Leeann • November 23, 2007 @ 12:07 PM

Madonna is one who flew over the coocoo’s nest and a whole lot of people paid big bucks to watch.
She’s not talented (movies), she’s not good looking (really look at her), every second sentence out of her mouth is BS and she slept with all the right people to get where she is but she must have some brains because she hired all the right people to make her look good and she knows there are gullible people out there will to pay for the amusement. Now her daughter has learned the values of how to use people to get what you want. These kids don’t get christmas presents – well how many times have we seen in the media, the shopping trips to Paris etc. and all the other wonderful yachet trips, the private island resorts etc. Come on these kids have everything and will have everything so give another TALENTED kid the opportunity.

Here is a FREE Life Coaching session for “ME”, Nancy and the rest of the ill-willed people:
Given your strong opinions, here is an easy way to learn the NO JUDGEMENT rule – it’s for your well being, so please give it a try.
Could I ask you to send Lola and her mom nothing but the best wishes in everything they do – whether is auditioning for the movies, celebrating Jewish Holidays or having an excellent mother-daughter relationship. Love them for who their are, their success and the way you think they got it. But be sincere.
You’ll be surprised how good it feels to be poison free.
    All the best!

I read a few comments on other articles and I found that the same people make derogatory remarks about everyone. Have you ever heard of ‘Walk a mile in my shoes, before you critisize …’ or ‘What the world needs now, is love, sweet love….’.

I tend to worry more about people who hate then the people they talk about.

All the best to both Madonna and Lourdes!

  33. Nancy • November 23, 2007 @ 12:59 PM

FriendLikeMe: Thank you so much for the FREE session!! Although you would be surprised how good I already feel just being ‘me’!! LOL.

  34. Angie • November 23, 2007 @ 1:12 PM

In the immortal words of Janice from “Friends”… Oh-My-God. Badmouthing an 11 year old girl, regardless of her parentage, is pathetic. Who cares if Lourdes has nepotism on her side? Why does it affect you? Has your kid been auditioning for bit parts in HP and hasn’t been getting call-backs? If you actually thought that there was some sort of casting democracy, then take off the rose-coloured glasses. In fact, take them off anyway – the world isn’t fair. Get over it.

  36. courtney • November 23, 2007 @ 3:08 PM

It is so sad to see adults insulting children, I hope some of you don’t have kids because I would hate to see what they say and the image they have of others. Who cares in Lordes get the part or not, there are much more important things in the world than this. We as a society pay to much attention to the entertainment industry, if we started to care less about what they eat, who they slept with etc then maybe we can concentrate on other important issues.

  37. Jennifer • November 23, 2007 @ 4:01 PM

Wow…people should get a life! Are the decisions that Madonna makes For her daughter any of your business?

  38. Gina • November 23, 2007 @ 4:03 PM

    Donna
I havent laughed so hard in a long time. Her feelings will be hurt when she visits this site…are you for real? As for the comments about the ugly duckling, she will have to get used to them – it’s the price you pay for fame and glory. I’m sure Hollywood will eventually turn her into a mini tart version of mama.

  39. Kristin • November 23, 2007 @ 4:58 PM

She’s the spitting image of her mother.

  40. Donna • November 23, 2007 @ 7:00 PM

Well Gina, I bet you don’t have kids. All I see is an 11 year old girl being told by strangers that she is unattractive. To me it’s the equivalent of a stranger at the mall approaching my 10 year old and telling him he’s ugly. Whether she is truly beautiful or not is, again, subjective, and giving an opinion on “beauty” is unecessary and only promotes negative feelings of self-worth. We’re not giving an opinion on a photo, we’re giving an opinion on a real person who has feelings. A child. She is an 11 year old child. Adults have choices about going into this business, but children in the business don’t have the maturity and understanding required to determine exactly what they’re exposing themselves to. Maybe shame on Madonna for allowing that exposure, but I really think attacks on Lourdes, or any other celebrity children, are petty, immature, and demonstrate a true lack of understanding for humanity and what it should stand for. How cold hearted and stupid do you have to be not to understand a simple concept like “it takes a whole community to raise a child”? For celebrity children, the world is really their community and we are responsible for our actions against them just as if they were our next door neighbour’s kids. She’s 11 years old! Think about it!

  41. tanya • November 23, 2007 @ 7:20 PM

Lourdes is as ugly as her mother. she could suck a carrot through a fence with them front teeth! Apple dont fall far from the tree, huh!!

  42. Donna • November 23, 2007 @ 7:40 PM

I feel sorry for you. How sad your life must be that spewing hate and sadness is entertainment.

  43. I've Got a Green Pen • November 23, 2007 @ 9:17 PM

Does this mean Hilary Duff has backed out of the series?

  44. terry • November 23, 2007 @ 11:04 PM

I think Lourdes is gorgeous with all that dark hair – and it shocks me that some adults reduce themselves to the level of fifth graders, and still make fun of another child’s appearance! Would you actually say that in her presence? To her face? Would you say that to any eleven year old? Grow up, find satisfaction in your own life and refrain from judging the child just because you may not approve of some of her mothers behaviours. In fact, don’t judge the child period – she is her own person who has the right to enjoy her own life, as much as anyone else; Besides, is it her fault that her mother is wealthy and famous? Lourdes may have ended up in this present situation regardless, and probably nobody would criticize her.

  45. Mustang • November 23, 2007 @ 11:21 PM

Lourdes is going to grow up and be knockout beautiful. Hopefully, like every young person celebrity or not, her parents will raise her to become a strong, competent, happy and contented person. Stop the hating- In all its forms.

  46. Gina • November 23, 2007 @ 11:42 PM

    Donna,

The only thing missing while I was ready your post was the violin. You my friend are the “stupid” one for being so friggin melodramatic over some rich kid that your kid(s) will try to aspire to be and never will!

Do I feel bad that people are commenting on her looks? No. I feel sorry for all of OUR daughters that are brainwashed into fitting the image that these child/adult stars portray. That’s whose self esteem I am more concerned with; your kid and my kid, not with the plastic barbies living in never never land.

As far as lacking an understanding for humanity, thats a laugh. It’s Madonna, her kids and the rest of the stardom club that lack an understanding for humanity. How can people be so self indulgent while there is so much suffering in the world? You know why, because of intelligent people like you that worship them. They should worship you; it’s your money that set up their kids for life. When the next Harry Potter film comes out, find it in your heart to do the right thing and set an example for your kid skip the movie and send it to Somalia. Then you can preach about humanity.

  47. Nancy • November 24, 2007 @ 12:53 AM

ooooooh!! Well, well, well…..I guess I will definitely be coming back to this site tomorrow!! I mean, with the writer’s strike and all……..the show on here is even better. Now I know, from personal experience, that Gina is quite a bit like me….she’s got spunk, and she says what she wants and stands her ground. You can say that I have no life, or need to get a life, whatever…..but I am absolutely delighted right now, thinking of reading Gina’s next comment to you Donna!!! LOL.

  48. KJ • November 24, 2007 @ 2:18 AM

Most of these comments are vicious and unnecessary. Nancy you are the nastiest of the lot. remember what goes around comes around

  49. Mustang • November 24, 2007 @ 2:28 AM

I’m new to this conversation site and there have certainly been a diverse range of opinions expressed. In the effort to not be a hater, I won’t direct this to anyone in particular but simply point out that some have- quite literally- already criticized this young girl as a no-talent when you haven’t even seen her act.
Some people I guess have powerful insight an can read the future. Good for you. Stay proud of yourself.

  50. Gina • November 24, 2007 @ 2:59 AM

    KJ
My comments are not meant to be vicious. I wish Lourdes much success as I do for all females. Hail to educated and successful women! Vanity is a handicap.

  51. Patricia • November 24, 2007 @ 4:10 AM

I hope Lola is a better actress than her mom ever was, cuz Ms Madonna sure coudn’t act her way out of a wet paper bag and her box office flops sure prove it, not even when her current hubby directed her in her last flop and he was supposed to be some big director!

  52. Robert • November 24, 2007 @ 5:07 AM

To hell with it. The child is butt ugly anyway. Next question people.

  53. Jim Shorts • November 24, 2007 @ 7:43 AM

The producers are still very much interested in inking a deal with Miss Duff and are creating a special role just for her. It’s thought the multi-talented “Lizzie Maguire” star will boost both box-office and soundtrack sales for the final two movies.

  54. Arnold • November 24, 2007 @ 11:22 AM

I hear Brittany will be offered a role as a haed shaved devil witch in Potter 8. They just need to work out if she wears her Panties or not. Movie execs definately want her to wear them.

  55. sk8tergirl • November 24, 2007 @ 5:52 PM

Don’t think there is going to be a Potter 8. I can’t wait to see this girl in one of the movies!

  56. Anonymous • November 24, 2007 @ 8:12 PM

What hapened to the cast of the Potter films being enirely British??

  57. Nancy • November 24, 2007 @ 11:58 PM

KJ: Wow! So I am the ‘nastiest’ of them am I? Cooooooooooooooool Duuuuuuuuude!!!! Best compliment I’ve had all week, Thanks!! Always been a strong leader…better than being a weak follower!!!

  58. Arnold • November 25, 2007 @ 2:09 PM

Wow I take these posts with a grain of salt and have soem fun.

But the reference to a young kids looks are pretty sad. Slam her tramp mother but the kids should be off limits. Just my opinion.

  59. Anonymous • November 25, 2007 @ 2:36 PM

I think her mom needs to crawl back under that rock!!! Skank.

  60. Joshua • November 25, 2007 @ 2:36 PM

Wow this tread is disturbing. She is a Hollywood child just like Charlie Sheen, Angelina Jolie, or Drew Barrymore. And you may not like Madonna but she is an Award winning actress and Singer…What are you? Nothing. So keep your unintelligent remarks to yourself. I wish both her and her half British daughter the best of luck. And if they are perhaps reading this, just ignore the “morons” in this post cuz you know what your worth, they are just jealous that they don’t have what you got.

  61. Anonymous • November 25, 2007 @ 9:17 PM

You’ve always been a strong leader? Bullies fool themselves into believing they are leaders

  62. Nancy • November 25, 2007 @ 10:29 PM

Oh really? Now I am a bully? Why don’t you read back ALL of the above comments and please, at least, tell me why I am the nastiest? Could you please do that? What I am getting at here, is that not once did I mention this girls looks! Well, did I? Go look at yourself in the mirror. It is pretty bad when you, the same people who are putting down the others on here for making fun of a childs looks, are judging me as well for being a strong person! You don’t know me. You haven’t even seen a picture of me. So who are you to judge? At least the ones who are saying these things about Lourdes and Madonna can look above and see a picture of them. Everyone has different opinions you know. Some will think they are nice looking and others will say they are ugly. They voice their opinions, I voice my opinions and you voice your opinions….so who is the bully??

  63. Nancy • November 25, 2007 @ 10:42 PM

Oh, and YOU shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are Anonymous, or of what others think of you! Try naming yourself on your comments!! LOL at you!

  64. Gina • November 25, 2007 @ 11:46 PM

    Nancy,

I’ve gone through all your posts regarding Lourdes, and I don’t see anything negative. You guys are being a little unfair here. All she said was that the kid was born with two feet in the door.

As for the negative comments, they are peoples opinions. They prompt you to post your opinions. If we all sat around here discussing what a wonderful life it is, there would be no one left as we would all die of boredom. Frankly, the only time I post is when something provokes me to, as do the rest of you. The others that natter on with their niceties have nothing intelligent to say and their posts are not worth reading.

  65. Nancy • November 26, 2007 @ 12:17 AM

Thanks Gina. We leaders have no problem finding back stabbers do we. It’s kind of hard not to when the followers are behind you!

It would definitely be a drab world if there were no differences in opinions.

I think most people would agree that I do alot of the provoking but, hey, it’s all in good fun. Some people just take life waaaaay too seriously! At the end of alot of my posts, I type Ha ha ha, LOL or LMFAO. This is because I like humour. I like to laugh and like to make others laugh. Don’t get me wrong though…because I won’t think twice about going up one side of someone and down the other when provoked! There are, so far, only two other people who normally post on Tribute that I can say the same about: Gina and Karen.

  66. Mark • November 26, 2007 @ 12:32 AM

Nancy, You GO GIRL!!! KEEP IT REAL FOR ALL OF US!!!

Mark aka ANONYMOUS on various posts aka ME, likes to keep it real!!!

Madonna……..go feed your kids. Better yet, tell your BUTLER to, “GO FEED YOUR KIDS!”

God, she makes me so sick!!! ack

“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”. I think that Lourdes is a beautiful girl and that Madonna looks great for her age. Madonna is known for donating a lot of her money to charity, so does that make her a selfish person? To whom ever considered themselves a leader…..Hitler was a leader too, did that make him a good person???

  73. Nancy • November 27, 2007 @ 2:03 PM

Absolutely not! I never said that all leaders are good people, but you have to admit….he is remembered more than his followers!!!

  74. romantic • November 27, 2007 @ 10:55 PM

Nancy and Gina need to get lives; you have waaay tooo much time on your hands!

And what’s with the “naming yourself” comment. Half the people on the internet use pseudonyms anyway so what difference would it make if you put a name instead of leaving it at ‘anonymous”?

Huh? Mark? Where did you come from? I thought you were a figment of Nancy’s imagination!

  78. Pam • November 29, 2007 @ 1:02 PM

Nancy, you’re an idiot! I would rather be remembered as a follower than be remembered as a leader for what he represented!

  79. me • November 29, 2007 @ 9:43 PM

Pam, you’re not getting the point. No one condones what that a$$hole did, but he is remembered. He had lots of followers, who were no better than he was, but as followers, they were not remembered. The leaders are remembered, whether they were good or bad.
