The 2013 Emmy awards nominations were announced this morning, and along with the expected nods were the unbelievable snubs. Tatiana Maslany, who delivered a stellar performance on the Canadian-American science fiction TV series Orphan Black, was not given an Emmy nomination. The Canadian actress plays half a dozen roles on the show, portraying each character with different behavioral and speech patterns. Her fans are outraged and have been sending out angry tweets, leading to Tatiana Maslany trending worldwide. Landing this role took the Regina-born actress to a new level in her career. Critics have noticed her and fans from all over the world have written to her. The popular Netflix series The Crown swept the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night, winning seven awards in total, including Best Drama Series.
She’s incredible on that show. Absolutely believable that she’s six different characters, each one is so unique. They’re all clones, so they look almost exactly alike, but she uses different mannerisms for each one. I’m really disappointed she wasn’t nominated. Hopefully next year.
Go Canada.
