Oscar winners get married

Javier Bardem, who won an Oscar for his work in No Country for Old Men, and Penélope Cruz, who won an Oscar playing Bardem’s wife in the 2008 comedy Vicky Cristina Barcelona, were married during a small, private ceremony held earlier this month. The two began dating in 2007 but steadfastly refused to confirm any relationship rumors. The ceremony was held at a friend’s home in the Bahamas and the bride wore a gown designed by her longtime friend, designer John Galliano. Bardem, 41 and Cruz, 36, first met while filming the 1992 Spanish-language movie Jamón, jamón, which was Cruz’s first film.
