River Phoenix

River Phoenix was a gifted actor who received an Oscar nomination when he was only 19 for Running on Empty, but he first came to our attention at age 15 when he starred in Stand By Me. He also played the young Indy in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. River had a promising career ahead, but it was cut short on October 31, 1993 when outside of a Los Angeles club called the Viper Room, he had five seizures on the sidewalk due to an overdose of morphine, cocaine, marijuana, cold medication and Valium. He was 23.
