Richard Gere

Back in 1974, Richard Gere was due to star in the film The Lords of Flatbush opposite Sylvester Stallone. But a careless moment involving a greasy piece of chicken lost Gere the role. During lunch between takes, Stallone warned Gere not to drip any of his greasy lunch on him, but Gere ultimately ended up getting some on Stallone’s pants and a fight ensued. Stallone explained: “The director had to make a choice: one of us had to go, one of us had to stay. Richard was given his walking papers and to this day seriously dislikes me.” That’s right – the infamous Stallone/Gere feud all began with some greasy chicken. Maybe if Gere had kept napkins with him, things would be different.
