McDonald & Dodds (BritBox)

This brand new mystery series is unique in that it gives us a leading female detective in DCI Lauren McDonald, but the star of the show is her second-in-command, DS Dodds, played by Jason Watkins, a  familiar face on British television (for fans of The Crown, he played Prime Minister Harold Wilson). Dodds is an underdog who seems to be out of his element in his current position, and the police department is even trying to get him to take early retirement, but in every episode, we're treated to his incredible intelligence and knowledge as he provides the key in solving each mystery/crime.
