Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) / Rogue Nation (2015) / Fallout (2018)

Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise is like fine wine, in that it just seems to get better and better with age. With three incredible entries this decade, it was difficult to pick one over the other as each brought something incredible to the franchise, with death-defying stunts that have come to define the series. The common thread between these films, outside of Cruise, has been writer and director Christopher McQuarrie (who did uncredited script work on Ghost Protocol). He may go down as the most overlooked influence of this decade and appears more than once on this list.
