This is the End – Seth Rogen (and Evan Goldberg)

Tomatometer score: 83% Co-directing with his longtime friend and writing partner Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen made the jump behind the camera in 2013 with the hit comedy This is the End. The concept itself would seem easy, with Rogen and crew playing themselves, but the way the film takes advantage of that premise and flips it on its head by placing them in the events of the rapture allows them to take their personas to absurd levels of parody. Directing this bottle film shouldn’t have been that difficult, but the way Rogen and Goldberg keep things visually fresh within the confines of a mansion is worth noting. Also with Goldberg, Rogen co-directed the controversial 2014 film The Interview. Since then, he’s stuck to helming episodes of various TV shows. Rogen will get a chance to further stretch his directorial limits with the TV series documentary Console Wars.
