Mile 22

As a potential action franchise on their hands, STX was certainly hoping for more with Peter Berg’s Mile 22. Starring Mark Wahlberg and Indonesian star Iko Uwais, the film opened to a paltry $13.7 million thanks in part to being critically panned and generally underwhelming audiences. The film lasted seven weeks in theater, finishing with a $36.1 million domestic total and an additional $30 million overseas, for a worldwide take of $66.3 million. With a budget reported at $50 million the film needed to do much better to secure a sequel.
