Russell Franklin in Deep Blue Sea (1999)

While trapped in an underwater lab facility in the middle of the Atlantic with genetically modified supersharks on the loose, corporate executive Russell (Samuel L. Jackson) decides it’s a really good time to stand by open water and make a speech. The remaining (i.e., not chewed up) crew is exhausted, bickering, and probably going a little bit mad from a lack of proper oxygen. Russell, who fancies himself the voice of reason, is not having any of it. “We are not gonna fight anymore! We’re gonna pull together and find a way out of here!” he says, with typical Sam Jackson conviction. He continues, “First, we’re gonna seal off...” just as a minivan-sized shark leaps out of the water and eats him whole. So much for team morale.
