Ralph Fiennes

Ralph received great recognition for his portrayal of a Nazi war criminal in Schindler’s List, as well as Count László in The English Patient. Since then, however, he’s sort of fallen off the radar in terms of major critical acclaim. Not that he hasn’t been working, and doing fantastic work at that. See: Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series. Or Harry Waters in In Bruges. And there’s plenty more where that came from. Sure, Ralph’s been nominated for a few awards here and there throughout the years, but he has consistently been unduly ignored for many truly stellar performances. How in the world the man wasn’t nominated for an Academy Award for his wonderful work as Monsieur Gustav in The Grand Budapest Hotel is beyond comprehension.
