Hercules (2014)

Brett Ratner can be a polarizing director. He’s had hits like the Rush Hour franchise, and then he’s had some otherwise forgettable and underwhelming films like Red Dragon and X-Men: The Last Stand. One of his latest offerings—in 2014’s Hercules—hit just the right spot. The reimagined classic Greek demigod as a con artist of sorts starred Dwayne Johnson wearing a ridiculous Lion headdress and wielding a comically large wooden club. With a supporting cast featuring pitch-perfect performances by Ian McShane, John Hurt, Rufus Sewell, and Joseph Fiennes, the action flick is a fun new take on the classic Greek myth.
