Roger Moore, who’s currently on a book tour to promote his autobiography My Word is My Bond, told reporters Thursday he enjoyed Daniel Craig as James Bond in Casino Royale, calling him “absolutely marvelous.” Of Quantum of Solace, he remarked, “I am curious. I shall see a DVD just before Christmas. I thought Casino Royale was terrific. I like Daniel Craig. Damn good actor.” Moore, who starred in seven Bond films himself, was knighted in 2003 for his humanitarian work. He recalls, “As an actor, you’re poncing around the world, in the best hotels, the best seats everywhere, everybody worried about whether your shirt’s clean. You’re so busy making a film you don’t have time to worry about what’s going on over there, the abject poverty on the other side. On the humanitarian side of things you see the world very differently. I’m very grateful that Audrey Hepburn introduced me to that world, to open my eyes.” My Word is My Bond was released by Collins Publishers earlier this month.
