Sean Penn to receive peace prize

Oscar-winner Sean Penn is getting another honor, this time at the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. He will be given the 2012 Peace Summit Award for his humanitarian efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, as well as his ongoing worldwide efforts. U.S. President Barack Obama was a previous recipient of the prize, in 2009. The event will be held from April 23 to 25 in Chicago and will be the first time the summit has been held in North America. In regards to the honor, the 51-year-old actor said, “I’m thrilled to receive this tribute and to represent it to the youth of Haiti, the strong women of Haiti, and of the world. Tomorrow is a new day where cynicism is for cowards, and men of virtue and agency will be true heroes to their sons.” ~Renita Naraine

Congrats. Even if someone write his lines for him, I think that Penn has certainly grown up since his bad years with Madonna and puts in real serious effort to bring world issues to light.
    Way to go. Deserved.

Way to go Sean. I believe you are doing it because you believe it, and not for the accolades. But the accolades are deserved anyway..
