Selena Gomez says being in Canada makes her happy

Selena Gomez meets young fanSelena Gomez, the 16-year-old star of the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, has posted on her MySpace blog that “Canada has made me the happiest I’ve been in a while.” She’s currently in Vancouver filming the motion picture Ramona and Beezus for 20th Century Fox. She says, “Going to work on a project that doesn’t have disney channel in the title was a little scary for me… Being surrounded by all of these people who have WAY MORE experience and have been through so much more than I can imagine made me realize how little my riffs were. I really have nothing to complain about or be miserable for.” Sounds like this is one teen star who has her head screwed on straight. Not only that, but she appreciates her fans, writing: “I walked off set to get back to the hotel and saw three little 8 yr girls waiting outside and I got hit with yet another realization… no matter what, my fans ALWAYS make me smile. Honestly there is no such thing as a ‘bad day’ when I encounter a fan, it’s just beautiful.” ~movi_alex

She’s a cute kid. I just hope she stays that way, and doesn’t go down the road to drugs and alcohol.

Very nice young lady, sounds and acts just like Dakota Fanning; hope that she has a career that’s just as successful.
