Son of God leading this week’s new releases

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey‘s successful biblical miniseries is heading to the big screen this weekend! Starring Downey and Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado, Son of God chronicles the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This biblical drama gives viewers the story of Christ from the miniseries, as well as never-before-seen footage that highlights both the rising popularity and struggle of Jesus as he spreads his message of righteousness. Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore star in Non-Stop, an action thriller about a U.S. Air Marshal aboard a transatlantic flight who receives anonymous texts asking him to transfer a huge sum of money. If he doesn’t, the anon is threatening to kill a passenger every 20 minutes. The movie will keep you guessing as Marks (Neeson) has to fight for the lives of the passengers while defending his own reputation at the same time. Stalingrad: An IMAX 3D Experience, Russia’s top-grossing movie of 2013, tells the story of the famed Battle of Stalingrad at the height of World War II in a cinematic experience like no other. I went to see Son of God last night, it was incredible! Don’t miss this one! I saw Non-Stop Friday night, and it was exciting, but completely implausible. Wait for it on DVD, if you pay to see it in theatres, you’ll feel like you didn’t get your moneys worth. JMO.
