The Shield actor arrested in wife’s shooting

The Shield actor Michael Jace has been arrested on suspicion of shooting his wife, April Jace. Police said Michael told a 911 operator that he shot April on Monday. Her body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in their house in Hyde Park, a residential neighborhood south of Hollywood. The couple’s children, both under 10, were at home at the time of the shooting. According to TMZ, Michael called 911 and said, “I shot my wife.” Reportedly, the couple was arguing about money. The family was under financial stress since March 2011, when the actor filed for bankruptcy. Michael was no longer able to pay the mortgage, and the family was about to lose their house.
The 48-year-old actor, who played LAPD detective Julian Lowe in the FX series The Shield, has an explosive temper and also threatened to kill his first wife Jennifer Bitterman, according to divorce papers. Michael and Jennifer were fighting for custody of their son Jordan after the divorce in 2002. In 2006, Michael sent his ex-wife an email which read, “Do you want to have a f**king war with me? I will f**king kill you.” Michael’s bail has been set at $1 million and according to police, the motive of the murder is believed to be domestic violence.
